The ISIS 5000 has been designed for online environments and boasts a number of features specifically created to maintain uptime. These include:

•  RAID-5 protected storage: If a physical drive fails, the system can still operate off the other drives -  no data is lost.

•  Hot Spare - The system comes with a dedicated drive installed and spinning which just waits until another drive has failed and then starts rebuilding automatically.

•  Resilient System Director - Should an internal  primary ISIS Engine fail, the System Director will enable a secondary ISIS Engine to take over operation and alert the system administrator to required maintenance.

•  Mirrored System Drives - Because the ISIS 5000 is a server and runs an operating system, the OS needs to be protected from failure, so AVID built in a mirrored OS boot drive into every system. In case of OS drive failure, the system automatically takes over on the other boot drive allowing you to hot swap the bad device.

Management Control & Security

With the ability to connect to Network security systems including LDAP and Microsoft Active Directory, management user permissions and security has never been easier. The ISIS 5000 understands the security mechanisms you already have in place so transitions are simple. As an administrator you have direct access to all status and management control functions of the ISIS thru a web browser.
